NEWSLETTER #12, April 2, 1990

_____________________________________________________________

Dear members,

1. There was a mistake in the nomenclature of the putative splice mutation in front of exon 11- it should be "1717-1G->A".

2. A second draft of the joint report on [[Delta]]F508 is attached. If there is any more mistake, please notify me as soon as possible. There is some non-uniformity in the "location and ethnic group", because I tried to cite as closely as that reported in each individual's data sheet. I appreciate further comments. The final draft will be sent off on Thursday (April 5) to Am.J.Hum.Genet.

3. Can someone in Europe contact Charles Coutelle in East Berlin about the joint report? I have not been able to reach him.

4. We are still experiencing trouble in transmission to some locations. The FAX machine normally tries 5 times and we usually try manually several times the next working day. For those of you who do not receive newsletter via FAX regularly, please find out what might be the most probable cause and let us know. We will send everybody Newsletter 1-12 by airmail again next week.

Best regards,

Lap-Chee Tsui
